The headline-grabbing addition to the Denver Art Museum, which Time magazine called “the most exciting new [building] to appear in the U.S. in recent memory,” launched the acclaimed museum onto the global art scene. Designed by famed architect Daniel Libskind, the new 146,000-square-foot wing is a titanium-coated, crenellated display area for the museum’s impressive collections of Western and American Indian art. The museum also features the only Asian art collection in the Rocky Mountain region and dozens of other collections and exhibits.
Contemporary art fans are looking forward to the debut of the permanent home of the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art. Opened in October 2007, the building, designed by David Adjay, will provide an innovative forum for contemporary art.
The Colorado History Museum in Denver is the work of the Colorado Historical Society, whose exhibits include Tribal Trails: Colorado American Indians 1500 to Today and Ancient Voices: Stories from Colorado’s Distant Past.
